In the heart of 2019, a journey began that would change the lives of two individuals and eventually lead to the creation of KY Ministries. It was in this year that Kaylee, an eager and passionate intern, set foot in Guatemala for the first time, joining Morning Glory Christian Academy. This experience was more than just an internship; it was the first step in a journey that would intertwine her destiny with that of Yoni, a dedicated teacher at the school. Kaylee's time in Guatemala was transformative. The vibrant culture, the warmth of the people, and the impactful work at the academy lit a fire in her heart. She left with a determination to return, but the world had other plans. The unforeseen arrival of COVID-19 halted international travel, and with it, Kaylee's plans to return to Guatemala. The world stood still, but Kaylee's resolve did not waver. As 2021 dawned and the world slowly opened its doors again, she seized the opportunity to return to the place that had captured her heart. It was during this trip that the threads of her destiny began to weave more tightly with Yoni's. Their reunion was not just a rekindling of friendship but the start of something deeper. As they spent the summer working together, their bond grew stronger, rooted in a shared passion for service and faith. By the end of the summer, under the warm Guatemalan sun, Yoni asked Kaylee to be his girlfriend. Their love, like their mission, was destined to cross borders and withstand distances. The year 2022 marked a new chapter in their story. Yoni, amidst the breathtaking beauty of Lago Atitlan, proposed to Kaylee. Their love, having blossomed across continents, was now ready to be a forever promise. In October of that same year, with joyous celebrations and heartfelt vows, Kaylee and Yoni united in marriage, just a few months after Kaylee officially moved to Guatemala in July. From her very first trip, Kaylee knew her calling was in Guatemala as a full-time missionary. However, destiny had an additional gift in store for her – finding a partner who shared her vision and passion. Thus, KY Ministries was born, a symbol of their united dreams and aspirations, named affectionately after Kaylee and Yoni. Initially, KY Ministries began as a platform to share the impactful work they were doing in Guatemala. But as time passed, their vision expanded. They began partnering with other ministries, growing in influence and capacity. This evolution led to the creation of KY Innovacion and Harvest, both integral parts of KY Ministries, representing the multifaceted impact of their work. KY Ministries, rooted in love and faith, stands as a testament to the power of shared visions and the extraordinary journeys that bring people together. Kaylee and Yoni continue to serve, inspire, and make a difference, united in love and driven by a mission to change lives in Guatemala. Their story is not just about the creation of a ministry but about finding love, purpose, and a shared destiny in serving others.
